Still I wait

My arms are tired-from holding us
From holding on to whatever this is
My arms ache-matches my heart
Waiting for you to take over

My eyes pain-a dull pain that bleeds
Tears on the inside
As I lie waiting for you
To come to life-to take me for yours

My soul darkens as morning dawns
And still you haven't appeared
Light flashes shadows on the wall
Of who I thought you were once
Who I wanted you to be-us to be

And still I wait
As all of me grows more and more weary
