Saying goodbye

She wasn't entirely sure what the world
Expected from her
What she was supposed to do
When faced with the notion of life without him
Eyes lowered she fought the battle
Between letting the tears fall
Or forever letting them drown within her
The need to love him tore through
The missing him feeling breaking her in two
For my god she loved him
With her every breath she loved him

Listen..

Did you ever listen to the sound of a heart break
To the howl that drags itself up through your gut
And rips itself out through you
It tightens your chest and you struggle to breathe
Panicked you try to focus
Try to escape it's terrifying claws
But a heart breaking won't let you escape
It's howl will remain screaming through you
Until time ends your misery

Us, truth dawns

It was the moment I got trapped in
The idea of the moment that captured me
It was intense, new, captivating
It was us
Us became the new world
I longed for you, you never failed to deliver
We met in darkness, loved in darkness
Came together in the dark deep night
And nothing could ever change that

Nothing except the dawn
We never saw arriving

Faded whisper

It was a whisper in the twilight
That stung sweet along my skin
Not knowing whether I should or not
I answered the whisper and found you

It was the 'I love you' that you whispered
The 'I need you' in my life
It was the tender words that seeped through me
That melted me into you and let me fall in love

It was my heart that broke when the whisper
Became the voice that faded
Reminding me that you weren't here to stay
That you never loved me at all

Blurred lines

The page was blank when I picked up the pen
The jumbled mass of thoughts
Pouring onto the page
Became a mass of destruction
Words describing you attacking each other
To be be one to describe you best
To be the one that would explain
How you broke my heart
But they blurred when my tears joined them
And they ceased to make sense
And the lump in my throat
Struggled to reorganise them
But it was too late for them
Too late for you
Too late for us

He wasn't hers

He stumbled upon her by chance
When he wasn't looking where he was going
He tripped over her heart
And fell and kept falling

She picked him up the day
He stumbled upon her by chance
But she couldn't keep her balance
So she fell and kept falling

She fed him her words and tended his needs
But he wasn't hers and her he couldn't keep
Blinded by tears and broken with pain
Neither of them could ever stand again

So they fell and kept falling
For he wasn't hers and her he couldn't keep

Hug me to tears

What if I leave here and us
And you don't try to find me

Don't do this baby, don't give us up
I'm hurting too being this far away
Unable to touch you-take you into a hug
Is beyond unbearable to me

I couldn't handle your hug
I would cry too much in it
The feel of your arms would make my skin bleed
The need for your arms makes my heart bleed

I would cry in that hug too baby
I would take you so tight I'd never let go
Sorry if this hurts too much
But I can never let you leave me

Fading moonlight

It's darker tonight
The moon sadly hiding behind the darkest of clouds
Heart torn at the tears witnessed
Heart broken at her sorry sight

There is no call for him to light the night sky
But he waits with tiny hope
Watches cautiously over her, tenderly over her
With a desperate wish that the eyes flowing tears will learn
To shine again, smile again

It's darker tonight
The moon sadly realising her heart has slowed
That she's fading away with cruel heartache
Unable to survive without him
She's given up her will to live

It's darker tonight
The moon has died beside her

Heart turns cold

You wake
To the same weary calling that isn't really there
Her voice, low and seductive chanting your name
Resounds in your head over and over
Yet she has left again, run again
The night tearing at your soul
Has worn it down
The tired echos of yesterday torture you
Her touch-her scent-her everything

You long for her
Yearn with an ache the stops your blood flowing
Your heart has turned so cold
That even the sun can no longer penetrate it
You can't bear another day without her
She belongs to you
Her touch-her scent-her everything

Would you..

Would you place your hand in mine
And trust where I would lead you
No matter what the journey was
Not doubting where we go
Would you close your eyes before me
And believe what I would tell you
Knowing that if I was wrong
You would suffer the consequences
Would you lay beside me
And enter my body willingly
Making love to me with the knowledge
That I might leave you tomorrow
Would you make yourself so necessary to me
That I could not function without you
Love, yet not fall in love
Hold me, yet not hold me back
Would you do all this
Even knowing I might not be real

Let her go

When you make her feel alone while she's with you
Feel used and unloved in your company
Her life a lonely lullaby of sadness
Then take a deep breath, take a step back and let her go

When she opens her arms to you at night
With a desire to take you inside her
And you turn away from her, try to feel her pain
Tend to that pain, or take a step back and let her go

She's beautiful and beneath those sad eyes
She longs to feel beautiful
Longs to be swept up and smothered in kisses
Kisses that once you longed to give her

When you no longer want her like you used to
Let someone else show her that she's needed
Take a deep breath and let her go

Miss our world

When the pain hits-it hits hard
I'm feeling it, the pain has kicked in
Junkie style, it's an addiction now
I don't have you so all I'm left with is heartache

I grasp it, the pain that stays with me
I hang onto it-desperately clinging to it
If I don't have that terrifying hurt then I have nothing
For I lost you and watched you move on

When the hurt hits-it hits hard
Stabbing me to remind me I'm alive
To remind me that even though you left me
I'm still here, still breathing, still hopeful
That somehow I'll crawl into tomorrow

Somehow I'll get over you

Together

I go back there sometimes to our place
When the day wearies me and brings me down
I escape there and climb into your arms
And the worlds fades away from me

It's easy there, you soothe my fears with kisses
And release the worries from my shoulders
We are the only two left when we meet there
The silence holding us in it's grasp

I don't need words when I go there
For your thoughts link to mine somehow
Our voices reach each other without speaking
Like souls knitting together

I'll go back there tonight when the lights go down

Valerie Masters

One last thing before I go

I don't have tomorrow-It's being taken away from me
Without warning my future is gone
Stolen before I see them both grow

I watch them-my girls
Their little hands linked in mine
Eyes they've not yet grown into
Staring at me uncomprehending
What I'm trying to say-with words I can't find

I want to tell them I got them
That everyday they wake -They will wake to my kisses
That everytime they stumble
I will lift them high above my shoulders and carry them weightless

I want to tell them so much, my little girls
That as long as they live my arms will be their anchor
And my love will be the strength they draw from

I want more time but I don't have tomorrow

Helpless

You unravel me-powerful words
From powerful feelings-Curl up with me

My heart's a little bit breaking
It can't be, I'm looking after it
Mind it well, it's not working for me
This is terrifying me

Don't do this baby

So real, so intense
The way you say my name
The way you reach so deep
The very way you seem to know what I'm thinking

It's over now-us, we're over
I can't make you believe
I love you if you don't already know
I can't stay any longer

Blinded

I didn't see it-your pain
The ache you felt when you pulled away
The torture you felt when you let my hand go
I didn't see it

I didnt know you cried as you walked away
Great big drowning tears that swamped you
And left you unable to see me
As you glanced back one last time

I didn't see it-your pain
But you didn't see mine either

Defenceless

I can't defend myself
I'm small with no voice-relying on your voice
To speak for me, maybe whisper words of comfort
A hug would be nice instead of your anger
Falling around my shoulders

I can't prevent you from hurting me
And all the others you've chosen to hurt
My cries anger you more but I don't know how to stop
I know where I'm headed, with all the others

I can't defend myself
From you killing me and tossing my body
With all the others that you've ripped life from
I can only pray that one day someone will be our voice
And make you pay for the death of
Young helpless children

Just a little

The taste of you still lingers
On my lips where once you rested
The taste of you warm and welcoming
Covers my body like a blanket

Your words still sit in my ears
Like a breeze gentle and comforting
Whispering the dawn to greet me
To take me on a journey of you

There's still a little bit of you kissing me
Calling my body to need you

There's still a little bit of me crying coz you're gone

Standing still

Time took a seat when we connected
Stopped the world for us and watched in awe
As we fell hopelessly for each other
Determined to keep us together
The clocks stood patient, unhurried

Time was distraught when you ripped us asunder
When you decided to no longer love me
It tried everything to rewind itself
To stop my heart from breaking

Time cries with me now
And even though it's restarted and life goes on
It ticks slower for me in the hope I'll restart too

But time means nothing anymore

Valerie Masters

I hope he does

I hope he loves you
Sees the destruction that lies within you
And draws it out
Holding it safe in his arms

I hope he kisses you in the morning
When you wake tousled and stretching
Not believing yourself to be pretty
But in fact you're at your most beautiful

I hope he leaves kisses all over your insecurities
And whispers seduction all over your skin

I hope he loves you
For a storm deserves to be loved
Even at the height of it's destruction
And you are a beautiful storm
