It was before the dawn,
It's always before the dawn
When the darkness takes over,
Owns me
I can't escape it
Eyes wide open fearing what's coming
Eyes wide shut for I can only fight sleep for so long
Sleep wins
Nightmares take over

It was after dawn I met you
And it wasn't long before you realised
It was before the dawn I needed you
It was before the dawn you fought my demons
As eyes wide shut I could only hope,
But I didn't need hope
You were my dream catcher
And I will never fight sleeping again
