I was ten a penny
More ordinary than extraordinary
Walked in the shadows
Stepped over the cracks
For tradition warned I'd fall otherwise
I was building high walls
Protecting myself from more
Than the cracks I stepped over
Saving myself from the shadows
That were waiting to make me fall
But I was only one side of the penny
And suddenly you became the other
You arrived,
Broke down the walls and took me into your arms
Heads I leave you and both our hearts break
Tails I stay and our hearts break anyway
Which one of us will be forced to make the toss?
