You wake and she's already wide eyed
Sleep has eluded her again
The world is heavy on her shoulders
For she carries yours too
She hasn't slept much
The absence of your love doesn't help
You take her for granted
The assumption that she will always be there
Becomes an arrogance that makes you ugly
Takes the reason she loves you
And moves it further from her reach
You turn over and sleep washes over you
She's still awake
Nothing has changed
Yet everything is going to
