Floats before me
I didn’t kiss you

I didn’t feel
Every beat of your heart
I never danced
When you asked me to dance
And as the night
Draws darker a lone tear
Spills on the pillow I hold
And I use my very last prayer
That you’ll be there
On the dance floor of eternity
And step into my arms
To stay.
Heartbreaking, all the more because it's written with such sweetness.
